One thing I remember from rebels is that Rex while wearing storm trooper armor during a shootout comments on the fact he can't see well with the helmet making him miss (proceeds to immediately hit another trooper across from him with said helmet after taking it off and throwing it) so that could explain some of the inaccuracy with the empire making one size fits all armor would probably cause mixed results given storm troopers are hired hands (until they essentially went the pseudo clone trooper route during the first order where they're referencing Finn's first offense it's mentioned troopers like him are "programmed from birth" implying cloning)

In the first scene of a new hope we see stormtroopers shrugging off would be fatal shot were it not for armour, glancing shots in that scene kill a number of rebel troopers.

My personal headcanon was that this is the diary of a Clone Officer in the 501st, part of a select number chosen by Palpatine to do wetwork before Order 66 came down and ensure compliance when it did. They did not need control chips or deception, they genuinely believed in Palpatine's plan and so gladly continued their service into the Empire.

I actually just came up with this hilarious theory about why the Storm Troopers are so bad with shooting. The Empire created this huge army of them. They have so many of them. They know that even if they’re all incompetent at least a couple will hit their targets. Another reason could be that they just want them to look cool when they’re marching. Because in Return of the Jedi they have that awesome scene when the Emperor comes and all the stormtroopers are standing there in perfect soldier position. So the Empire really just needed a whole lot of them because 1. They knew they were all a terrible shot so they needed a whole lot of them so that at least one or two could successfully shoot and 2. They also wanted them to look cool and menacing when they’re all together in a group.

This is purely amazing - Steve Downs has been that role model for me growing up and I'm sure for many other people as well.

I think that retconning stormtroopers as wide ideological corps like ss or sa, instead of small elite unit is one of the rare things in new canon, that actually make sense. Cause really, all this "tarkin doctrine" when the Empire is rather occupying the galaxy than simply building an armed forces and their on-screen bad fighting skills even when they not like letting enemy escape on purpose in episode 4, are fitting better now.

Now that Andor Season 1 has been out for a while, I really think that the entirety of Rogue One needs to be re-edited or at least re-scored. Michael Giacchino is a talented composer, but he was rushed and tried too hard to make Rogue One sound like regular Star Wars without being regular Star Wars, and the sousdtrack just falls a bit flat overall. Nicholas Britell did such an amazing job with scoring the first season of Andor, because he was given the time he needed to create something that fit the show and didn't need to sound like John Williams. I think Rogue One would benefit from a fresh score that does a good job of bridging the gap between the Nicholas Britell and John Williams scores. 😊

Well made video but I have some critic points a specially the missing kamino scenes and the order in which you played the scenes because you showed corucant after Felucia instead of after mygheeto but the rest of the video was really good 👍

Hi! So, I have watched the first 4 episodes of the original season 1 and I am hating it. I want to watch season 2 but I can't finish the it. I've decided to look for fan edits. I found a guy who did a 3 hour and 25 minute edit and added in game music. I think I am just going to end up watching that as I assume it'll allow me to follow the new season. In many of their scenes they actually display fairly realistic accuracy for a heated firefight. Especially when hip firing in close quarters. Target shooting at the range and trying to hit a moving enemy in an active firefight are 2 very different animals.
